Rubber & Sponge Ltd. we offer “kiss” die cutting services as part of our custom gasket and seal manufacturing process (including for custom rubber seals). “Kiss” die cutting is a form of die cutting in which a very light impression of the steel rule die cuts through the peel-off portion of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) labels, but not through its backing material, allowing for a “peel and stick” application of a custom gasket or seal. “Kiss” die cutting is an excellent solution for commercial or industrial applications where the ability to frequently adhere custom gaskets or seals during the final production process of a product is necessary, such as in the automotive industry for vibration control applications. The gaskets and seals can be rolled up in their self-adhesive paper or plastic liner for convenient dispensing or storage. Gaskets and seals made of foam, rubber and sponge (such as custom rubber seals) can have “kiss” die cutting applied to them.
“Kiss” die cutting of custom gaskets and seals (including custom rubber seals) allows for easier transportation of them, lessening the risk of damage during shipment. A.J.
